An authentic workshop of handmade and bespoke shoes for both men and women. The lasts of the film stars, artists and musicians who, between the ‘50’s and the ‘70’s, left the imprint of their feet in this historic workshop in via Sistina, are still preserved here. Tito Petrocchi’s manufacturing tradition and stylistic simplicity have been preserved and handed down by his grandson and collaborator Bruno Ridolfi who continues to run the family business in his shop in vicolo Sugarelli. His style has always been oriented towards good taste and classicism, exclusively reinterpreted with several variations such as the turned up tip in men’s footwear.
Alessandra Torella and Santo Costanzo, the creative duo managing the brand, have pooled their cinematic, theatre and stylistic experiences to bring to life, in 2009, creations inspired by the idea of unique garments through experimental dying techniques and the creation of original patterns and materials. All the garments in the collection can be tailor-made according to the clients’ wishes and their special occasions. Such as the Flair skirts, the brand’s star attraction, realised completely by hand with a printing technique patented by Bragia and guaranteed with a nominal certificate which identifies each skirt. The most fashionable brides will be happy to find the ideal dresses for that moment to say “yes”.

For his knitwear collection, Canovai uses extra-fine merino wool, cashmere, rayon and linen made exclusively in Italy. From these are created dresses, outerwear, suits, knitted cloaks in boiled wool with playful chromatic games, above all in patchwork, his preferred theme. The made-to-measure service requires just one visit and comes at no extra cost.
As in the times of the Dolce Vita, inside the atelier they still take measurements of the foot, choose the hides, applications and models and after about a month of work you are presented with a new pair of Albanese made-to-measure shoes.
Shoe jewellery, made by hand, from a generous range of models and versions, often fanciful and irresistible. A bespoke suit by Gaetano Aloisio, Calabrian by birth and Roman by adoption, can take up to 70 hours to make. A formal style, never eccentric or ostentatious, boasting cuts that, though supremely elegant and sober, are nevertheless always extremely comfortable. Aged just 22, he won the Golden Scissors, a prestigious award given by the Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori which, each year, is awarded to the artisan tailor who best expresses style, ability, creative flair and the formal severity of bespoke tailoring. Though his workshop is Rome-based, his customers are scattered throughout the world: Japanese, American, Arabs and Europeans who demand the utmost in tailoring and who often expect Aloiso to travel in order to reach them wherever they find themselves in the world.
Since 1946, hand-crafted creations, double needle stitching, collars with extractable stays, mother-of-pearl buttons and Italian fabrics have been the hallmark features of a Beauty by Bucci shirts, one of the oldest shirtmakers in Rome. Here you can find all types of shirts imaginable: casual or elegant, dress shirts and shirts for special occasions, shirts with double cuffs for cufflinks or with rounded or diamond cut cuffs, small pockets and embroidered initials. Also worth note is the establishment’s amazing range of boxer shorts, pyjamas and socks of all shapes and colours which can be personalized with a monogram, in perfect keeping with the new canons of male dandyism. An ancient Roman emporium that has also brought the art of “made-to-measure” to the Internet.
Aglietti’s handmade shoes are recognizable on account of the almost maniacal attention that the designer pays both to colour and shine. The sheer emotion aroused by their look and feel is totally unbeatable. Shine becomes a rite involving as many as ten, fifteen, twenty finishes. Aglietti uses special mixes of water and wax , some of which are personally prepared. Each shoe comes with custom wooden trees (also handmade) and the customer’s initials are engraved on the bottom of the right sole or, on request, on the left sole, depending on which leg is crossed. Only premium skins, originating from Italian, French, British or German tanneries are used. The cordovan comes from Chicago. When ordering their first pair of bespoke shoes, customers must take the price of the last of the shoe - which costs around 265 euros - into consideration.

An eccentric, eclectic individual who, at his Tor di Nona location, mainly produces original ties and bowties based on his own creative design. On account of his flamboyant look (moustache and untidy hair) and his surreal creativity he has been dubbed the “Salvador Dali of the tie”. His fabric range includes materials from the ‘20’s right up to the ‘50’s and ‘60’s and are used both for his bespoke suits, based on the Neapolitan school of tailoring, and his ties. His favourite fabrics are highly unusual, such as the organic and recyclable ones, with which he is capable of creating any type of garment. The price of a tie in a vintage, ‘20’s fabric can cost anywhere up to one thousand euros on account of being unique and unrepeatable.
