Since 1972, the seamstresses in Genète's workshop have been hand-making neckties, bow ties, scarves and other silk accessories for major Parisian couture houses.

The Auxerre-based workshop, founded by Lucette Genète and branded Living Heritage Compagny, was acquired in 2005 by Olivier Delinotte who filed the official brand of Genète Paris without interrupting the existing partnerships with other fashion brands, which still take up about 80% of seamstresses' workload.

Genète Paris creations are made as one-of-a-kind or limited edition pieces, ranging from the traditional to the fantastical. Twice a year, seasonal collections give rhythm to the permanent offering. The silk used for the accessories comes from Italy.

In 2013, Label XVI's silk scarves, printed by e.g.m. and hand-rolled by Genète, are on Made in Town winter inventory list.
