Passionate about textile since his childhood, Jean-Claude Bordes decided to capitalize on the local tradition of weaving in the Tarn region and founded his own linen brand Les Toiles de la Montagne Noire, which offers a wide range of canvases, napkins, dish towels and tablecloths inspired by patterns from the Basque Country.

All steps are done in-house – from the design to the purchase of raw material, cutting, finishing and distribution – bar the manufacturing as fabrics are woven by local partners. During the summer the flagship store in Labastide-Rouairoux hosts textile exhibitions to educate the public about various techniques such as textile printing.

Les Toiles de la Montagne Noire took part in the Made in Town / Montagne Noire exhibition, which was held from October 21, 2015 to February 13, 2016 at Made in Town in Paris.
